NAREE is very fortunate to have an expert at the helm of this workshop created by NAREE President Eileen Woods. Charles Minshew is the digital storytelling editor for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, helping journalists tell stories with data and digital tools. Charles is the former director of data services for Investigative Reporters & Editors, the world's largest organization for data and investigative journalists.
He has trained thousands of journalists in the latest techniques in investigative and data journalism. Charles previously worked at the Orlando Sentinel as a graphic artist with a focus on data.
In 2012, Charles was on the staff of The Denver Post that won a Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News for coverage of a shooting at a theater in Aurora, Colorado. Charles is a graduate of Georgia Southern University and the Missouri School of Journalism.
Charles says that you can also follow along using Google Sheets for these workshops, if you don’t have Excel.
