#NAREE2026 Miami Conference Highlights
NAREE University’s peer-to-peer career development workshop sessions (details under the Events Tab) and industry trends sessions with leading commercial and residential real estate experts were moderated by award-winning journalists including NAREE President Jack Flemming, Los Angeles Times; NAREE Vice President Suzann Silverman, CPE/MHN; NAREE Secretary Candace Taylor, Wall Street Journal; and Past Presidents Aldo Svaldi,Denver Post and Ralph Bivins, Realty News Report and NAREE Conference Advisor. Sessions ran Monday, June 1 to Wednesday, June 3 at the Kimpton Epic Hotel in downtown Miami. Industry sessions included the Midyear Home Building Outlook with Rob Dietz, Chief Economist, National Association of Home Builders (NAHB); NAREE’s traditional economic trends panel with NAR Chief Economist Lawrence Yun among others; a panel on Vertical Urbanism with Edgardo Defortuna, Fortune International Group and others, and a conversation with New Urbanism co-founder Andres Duany. Both NAREE’s Meet the Press and NAREE’s 76th Annual Real Estate Journalism Awards presentation were held on Wednesday, June 3.

The portal to enter NAREE’s 76th Annual Real Journalism Competition is now closed. It was open from February 1 through the March 1 entry deadline. Each year ndependent journalists can enter work published, posted, or aired in the previous year. Thirty categories recognize excellence in commercial and residential real estate. Overall awards for freelancers, young journalists, consumer watchdog reporting and more are presented at NAREE’s annual Conference. This year’s winners were announced June 3 at the Kimpton Epic. NAREE’s Annual Real Estate Journalism Conference began Monday, June 16, 2025 at 1 PM and concluded on Thursday morning June 19 in New Orleans.
NAREE’s 59th annual conference — #NAREE2025 — was headquartered at the iconic Hotel Monteleone in the heart of the historic French Quarter. Miami - (June 3, 2026) - The National Association of Real Estate Editors (NAREE) announced the winners of its 76th Annual Journalism Awards today. This prestigious competition recognizes excellence in reporting, writing, and editing stories about residential and commercial real estate.
The awards were announced at NAREE’s annual conference held at the Kimpton Epic Miami in Miami, Florida. A panel of expert judges from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University selected all winners. Medill’s Karen Springen chaired the panel.
