Save the Date for #NAREE2025, NAREE’s 59th Annual Real Estate Journalism Conference in New Orleans, LA beginning Monday, June 16, 2025 at 1 PM and concluding Thursday morning June 19. The conference will be headquartered at the charming Hotel Monteleone in the historic French Quarter. Expect press conference with industry leaders on residential and commercial real estate trends, mid-year economic forecasts, NAREE’s peer-to-peer professional development sessions, plus NAREE’s Meet the Press and Journalism Awards presentation. Registration, hotel reservation links and conference details to post in the coming weeks.

NAREE’s annual conference is a unique hybrid of both professional development and real estate industry news and insights. The 2025 conference begins Monday afternoon, June 16 and ends Thursday morning, June 19. The conference is geared for journalists covering either residential or commercial real estate, or both on any bonafide news platform.
NAREE University’s peer-to-peer workshops to look into the future of real estate news coverage
Headed by NAREE University Dean Rebecca San Juan, CoStar News award-winning reporter and NAREE board member, NAREE University sessions are designed to equip attendees with insider information and fundamental tips on some of the trendiest topics of the year, including investigative reporting, data journalism.
Note from Rebecca: The National Association of Real Estate Editors lines up a series of peer-to-peer workshops designed to strengthen and introduce new skills to its veteran journalists and newcomers. This past year in Austin, attendees got a taste of real estate investigative reporting by a star-studded panel of journalists reporting for some of the world's top newsrooms. Conference goers also got to dive into visual engagement tools, the world of freelancers and published authors. Next year will bring more opportunities to learn from real estate journalists in the field willing to share insider tips and tricks.

NAREE’s Renowned Economic Forecast Panel is a NAREE tradition that equips journalists with tools to cover real estate news in the year ahead.

#NAREE2025 offers a networking press room the Java Cafe for working remotely on quick projects and a quiet press room, the Zen Tea Room for those who need to work without interruption — both on the the floor meeting room level.
NAREE’s Own Speed Networking
Journalists are also invited to be panelists on NAREE’s Meet the Press which runs on Awards Day, Wednesday, June 18 at 3:00 PM. Now in the planning stages for its 28th year, MTP is NAREE’s one-on-one speed networking session runs 90 minutes. Journalist panelists meet those who want to pitch them in a series of three-minute appointments. NAREE past president Sue Doerfler will invite registered journalists. Industry member conferees can only sign up for MTP in person in New Orleans beginning Monday, June 16 near the conference main registration desk.
Awards
NAREE’s prestigious Real Estate Journalism Awards Presentation begins with a winner-only Red Carpet Reception at 6:15 PM on Wednesday, June 19 at the Hotel Monteleone. Awards will be presented at 7:30 PM in the Iberville Ballrooms. A press release on the awards will be posted on naree.org after 9 PM Central Time on June 19. Certificates will be mailed in late June to those who weren’t in New Orleans. All winners will be invited to attend the full conference and the Awards Ceremony. Award icons can be emailed to winners upon request and individual photos of winners, and a group photo of those winners will be taken at the awards ceremony,

NAREE Hotel
NAREE’s limited hotel room block cut-off deadline is May 15. Book early to reserve your hotel room during NAREE’s block days: Sunday June 15 to Thursday morning June 19. The hotel is offering journalists a chance to book Thursday night on a space available basis at the same media rate of $149 as is viable in the block. The Industry block rate will run $189.

Special arrangements must be made for receiving any equipment, goods, displays or other materials, which will be sent, delivered, or brought to the Hotel. the hotel also asks that boxes be numbered “1 of 5”, “2 of 5”, “3 of 5”, etc. This way, we will know when incomplete shipments are received.
