NAREE Elects 2021 Board of Directors

Boca Raton, Florida - The National Association of Real Estate Editors (NAREE) has elected new officers and board members to serve on the 2021 NAREE Board of Directors.

NAREE’s new president is Jeff Collins, Orange County Register/Southern California News Group reporter. Eileen McEleney Woods, Sunday real estate editor, The Boston Globe and realestate.boston.com, is NAREE's new vice president.

Collins, who has been with Orange County Register since 1990, previously served as NAREE vice president and headed up NAREE's peer-to-peer professional development program, NAREE University, at NAREE's 2020 virtual conference.

"This is a big honor," Collins said. "I'm eager to give back to an organization that has had such a tangible impact on the quality of my own reporting. What makes NAREE great is that it brings journalists, economists and industry professionals together to discuss the foremost issues in real estate and showcases the most insightful writing on this topic. NAREE has broadened my sources and my range of reporting while exposing me and my colleagues to new online formats."

NAREE’s new board members were installed virtually at NAREE’s Officer Installation and Leadership Service Awards meeting on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2020, on Zoom.

Woods, who has served on NAREE's board prior to her election as vice president, will run NAREE University for NAREE's upcoming 2021 Fall Conference in Miami.

"I am honored to be affiliated with a program that brings together some of the best writers, researchers, and analysts in journalism and the real estate industry in panels that have inspired me and informed my own work," Woods said. "Discussions on social justice and inclusivity in policy and reporting, the impacts of COVID-19 on commercial and residential real estate, data projections on migration, social media and objectivity, and pandemic-fueled design are just a few of the topics discussed by more than two dozen industry leaders and 30-plus journalists. I look forward to continuing Jeff's innovative work throughout the year and at the 2021 conference in Miami."

Both have won numerous NAREE Gold Awards.

NAREE’s 2021 second vice president is Kris Hudson CBRE. Hudson who worked previously at the Wall Street Journal served as NAREE president in 2013.
