NAREE Resets Miami 2020 Conference Dates to Dec. 6-9

Hopeful that measures taken now will help contain the pandemic in five months time, NAREE is rescheduling the annual conference to December 6-9 at the Kimpton Epic Hotel in downtown Miami.
NAREE leaders will continue to closely monitor the situation and conference updates will be posted on NAREE.org on the annual conference page. Details will be included in future E-News blasts as well. NAREE’s 54th annual conference, originally slated for June, was postponed to September last April, before being rescheduled to the the end of the year due to Covid-19 travel and public meeting restrictions.

The Kimpton Epic is a luxury first-class urban hotel with a top rating by Conde Nast. All hotel rooms have balconies and are located on the upper floors allowing inviting city and water views. The gorgeous outdoor pool deck, located on the 14th floor offers panoramic vistas of Miami’s iconic architecture and waterfront. The December conference has been scheduled at a time when some of Miami’s best weather is expected.

Plans call for NAREE's December conference to kick off with a welcoming poolside reception on Sunday, December 6 in the evening. The conference will offer two full days of programming — including NAREE University's peer-to-peer journalism workshops and residential and commercial real estate industry forecasts and trends from leading economists and analysts on Monday and Tuesday. A farewell coffee is planned for early Wednesday morning. The spacious meeting room on the 17th floor adjoins an outdoor balcony and will be set to follow social distancing safety protocols. The tentative planning schedule will be posted in August. Feel free to email nareeprograms@gmail.com with specific questions.

Journalism contest award winners will be celebrated during NAREE's conference. A panel on award-winning entries is in the works as well. Contest winners will be notified in late August. Bruss Book Award winners will also be contacted next month and will be recognized at the meeting. NAREE expects to hold the Board Installation at the conference on Tuesday evening, December 8.

NAREE has a limited hotel room block with rates beginning at $139 for bona fide media and $169 for industry associates. Based on hotel availability, these rates are being offered three days prior and after the conference if you want to extend your stay. The hotel has 72-hour cancellation policy, so you can book your room with your anticipated dates early and then change them yourself, if needed. We’re here to help if you run into a snag.

All conference information is posted to naree.org/conference, along with a link to renew membership. The registration form is also available here. Please fill it out and send to nareeprograms@gmail.com. Previous conference registration will be honored, but if you have a schedule conflict with the new December meeting, please contact nareeprograms@gmail.com to request a refund by October 15.

Hope to see you there,

Mary Doyle-Kimball
