NAREE Bivins Fellowship

WHO CAN APPLY
The NAREE Bivins professional development fellowship was created for working journalists who are members of the National Association of Real Estate Editors.

The goal of the 8th Annual NAREE Bivins Fellowship is to provide travel stipends to NAREE's Annual Spring Conference and to provide grants for research, reporting and writing projects within the broad field of real estate.  It is named for NAREE past president and veteran journalist, Ralph Bivins, for his devotion to the group.

Judging:
Fellowship applications are judged by the faculty of an accredited university's journalism department.

LOGISTICS:  
Entries: must be postmarked by Feb. 15, 2010 and received by Feb. 25.
Copies of brochure or online application from www.naree.org are acceptable.

7. ____I understand only those who will be awarded grants will be notified. All materials will be kept confidential and not returned. Grant winner names will be announced at the conference and may be noted in a press release on www.naree.org and in the NAREE News after the June 2010 NAREE Conference.
     A. Those awarded NAREE Conference Grants will be notified no later than April 15 so they will have six weeks advance notice to make arrangements to attend the NAREE Conference June 2-5 in Austin, Texas. Conference grant winners must complete registration for the conference and for the hotel. Conference grant winners must attend the Austin conference to receive their award. 

     B. Those to be awarded grants for journalism training other than the NAREE conference or for special book and journalism projects will also be notified six weeks prior to the conference so they may pick up their grant in person at the NAREE conference.

Note: Both NAREE Active member working journalists and non member working journalists are eligible to apply. NAREE members must be active members in good standing. There is no fee for NAREE active members. Non-members must pay a $75 application fee, which can be applied to annual membership dues.
